Restart SEQ is an un-incorporated Not For Profit charity organisation that helps people restart after DV, homelessness and/or natural disaster.
What does un-incorporated mean?
It means we don’t get FUNDING from the government or grants!
We only make money from DONATIONS and selling furniture through our Online Shop.
Jason & Tara are the only feet on the ground currently getting much needed items out to people in need. They have been doing this for 7 to 8 years now.
Most of that time it has been all self-funded at the cost of around $200,000 pa.
At present, Jason is putting 100+ hours a week into the charity and Tara about 70 hours.
meaning we get paid around $3/hr.
In the time we have been doing this, Jason has picked up dislocated shoulders and a fractured neck. Tara has picked up 3 slipped discs and 2 stuffed knees PLUS pure exhaustion as we work 7 days/week and only have a couple of days off each year.
